Mentorship Programme

Mentoring is the sustained relationship between a youth and an adult. Through continued involvement the adult offers support, guidance, and assistance as the younger person goes through a difficult period, faces new challenges, or works to correct earlier problems.

Mentoring is the sustained relationship between a youth and an adult. Through continued involvement the adult offers support, guidance, and assistance as the younger person goes through a difficult period, faces new challenges, or works to correct earlier problems.

The Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme has designed its mentorship programme after this latter type of mentoring to meet the many needs of its young entrepreneurs.

Amongst these needs are:
  • mental and emotional support to help them develop a positive self-image
  • close, individual attention when confronting personal and business challenges.
  • direct access to business contacts to acquire a wide range of resources
  • ongoing monitoring and coaching in the process of visioning and goal setting
Through one on one support YES aims to help its clients:
  • discover their abilities
  • build their self confidence
  • by exposing them to growth experiences
  • develop trust
  • encourage professional behaviour
  • heighten their self-awareness and
  • by empowering them to confront negative behaviours and attitude

To ensure optimal results from the programme, YES selectively draws its mentors from a pool of other entrepreneurs, professionals and successful business owners. Thus entrepreneurs are appropriately matched with mentors who can identify and relate to their situations and perspectives.
